After a successful career in interior decorating, Prudy’s artistic journey took a creative turn in 1993 when she began exploring watercolor painting. Just six years later, after completing a piece depicting a historic hardware store in Matthews, NC, her husband convinced her to turn the painting into prints. To their surprise, the limited edition quickly sold out, marking the exciting beginning of her career as an artist.

Since then, Prudy has honed her craft through a variety of courses and workshops in watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. Her travels across Europe, the US, and Mexico have provided a wealth of inspiration for her art, and over time, painting has become both her passion and full-time vocation.

Prudy is an active member of the NC Watercolor Society, the Guild of Charlotte Artists, the Matthews Artist Guild, and the Smith Island Art League. Her diverse portfolio includes landscapes, portraits, coastal scenes, and the doors and windows she’s encountered throughout her life—each piece telling its own unique story.

She is represented by Vita Vite in Raleigh, NC, and Room Service on Bald Head Island. Prudy has participated in numerous group exhibitions, with many articles chronicling her artistic journey. Today, she lives and works from her home studio in Matthews, NC, where art continues to be the heart of her life.
